Joy Before Us
Heb. 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus provided for us a great example of how to endure difficult situations. Dying naked on a cross is an extremely shameful thing, not even mentioning the whole pain and dying part. Yet, this verse in the book of Hebrews says he made little of the shame, because he had joy for those who would be saved through faith in Him. His reasoning to endure the cross created such joy that He could willingly face it.
God, out of His love for us, has given all of Himself. Even to the point of death in our place. He has held nothing back and desires to connect and care for everyone. It is just up to us to invite Him in. He wants to move for the benefit of all people, but he doesn’t force His way into our lives, but has respect for everyones’ decisions. At the same time, if we allow Him, He will lovingly father us and work on character in our lives that will better equip us for our lives.
